PROCEDURE FOR GAINING YOUR FIRST HANDICAP
It is a requirement of the Rules of Handicapping that all general play scores, including those for gaining an initial handicap, are pre-registered. Players with handicaps can pre-register their round in ClubV1, but due to a system limitation this is not possible for players without a current handicap. Therefore the procedure to follow is as follows:
- Pre-register your round in the pro shop. Tell them that you will be playing a round to gain your initial handicap and they will record this on a spreadsheet.
- You must have a marker who already has a handicap.
- If more than one player in the group is playing a round for their initial handicap, there must be a different scorecard for each player.
- You must follow all of the rules of golf. This includes holing out on every hole.
- Complete the scorecard correctly.
* On the scorecard, write “FOR INITIAL HANDICAP” in the Competition field.
* Enter the date and time.
* Write your name in field A, and the name of your marker in field D. If the marker is not a member of Easingwold Golf Club, write their club next to their name.
* Tick the box to indicate which set of tees you are using.
* Make sure your marker records your gross scores in column A.
* Make sure that both you and your marker sign the card after the round is completed.
- Place the scorecard in the box attached to the wall in the corridor heading to the office and locker rooms.
