RABBITS

The RABBITS section is for all male members aged 18+ with a handicap of 16-28.

There is no membership fee but all players pay £2 when taking part in away matches.

Friendly matches are played against other clubs in the Yorkshire and Teeside areas (See Fixtures).

Competitions are run throughout the year details of which can be seen on Howdidido.

Our first qualifying competition of the year is the Eclectic Stableford (Round 1) on Saturday 20th March.

In addition to the friendly and YRGA league matches we also have other events from time to time, including:

    • Stablefords throughout the year.
    • Captains Away Day at Hartlepool.
    • Captain's  v Vice-Captain's team match.
    • Exchange Day with Headingley.
    • Open Away Days at Knaresborough, Saltburn and Kirkbymoorside.
    • Rabbits v Juniors.

Two new competitions this year are the

  • Jack Rabbit Trophy - Aggregate score from the Spring, Summer and Autumn Medals.
  • Centurions Trophy - Any Rabbit that has scored a 100 or more in a club medal this year is elegible.

The club's regular Medal competitions are open to all and Rabbit members are encouraged to play in these events and to support the club by taking part in the wider range of activities organised for all members, such as exchange days, club team matches and social events.

Our Rabbits Open Day will take place on Friday 3rd Sept 2010 (see OPEN DAYS section for details and entry form).

The section, although new, has already funded

  • Clock on the Gable End of the Clubhouse.
  • Assistance to  the Junior Section.
  • Main Drainage Chamber to side of 4th fairway.

Our next project will be refurbishment of the drinking fountain between the 12th green and the 13th tee and demolition of the old fountain at the side of the 18th tee. This work will commence shortly.
