| Our 2018 RABBITS & INTERS OPEN (full handicap pairs better ball Stableford) was held on Fri 24th Aug. There were 126 participants from over 20 Clubs. We appreciated the many good comments regards the course, organisation and catering. It was great to see Pike Hills entering en masse with 24 yet again as part of their Rabbit Captains Away Day, and also to welcome a party of 16 from Saltburn-by-the-Sea, 14 from Harrogate and 11 from Forest Park. Reasonable weather with a few passing showers saw some significant better ball scoring, the following results being testimony to the the good (or maybe fortunate!) golf played on the day: 1st - 52 pts Colin Hawkins (18)/Ian Mack (18) [Catterick]; 2nd - 51 pts John Baxter (21)/Terry Johnson (23) [Forest Park]; 3rd - 49 pts Paul Drury (28)/Richard Carter Ferris (16) [Malton & Norton]; Nearest Pin on 5th - Martin Sheridan (19) [Hessle]; Nearest Pin in Two on 10th - Tony Loughran (12) [Saltburn-by-the-Sea]. | The SENIORS AUTUMN OPEN held on Friday 14th September 2018 saw a full field of 164 Seniors playing the popular Four Ball Stableford game, many returning year on year and the organisers appreciate their loyalty to our Seniors Open. Also thanks are due to Easingwold members who helped on the day and the Greens staff, the professional staff and not least the Caterers, everyone contributed to make the day very successful. Winners on the day were Ian McClelland and Steve Hunter from Brough with a score of 48. Second was L Leah and B Gray from Shipley with 47with B9 25 and B6 17. Third was Martin Sheridan and Ted Cox from Hessle also 47 but B9 25 and B616. Fourth was Mike McGing and Tim Beachell from Driffield again 47 B9 23. Fifth was Alan Robinson and Kumar from Ingleby Barwick and Dinsdale Spa again the score of 47 with B9 22. Nearest the Pin on 5th was Robert Sanderson from Bishop Auckland, Nearest in 2 on 10th was Leo Bond from Hartlepool and Nearest in 3 on 18th was Paul Cook from Knotty Hill. Longest Drive was struck by John Pace from Blackwell Grange. Congratulations to all the winners and your gift vouchers will be sent to you as soon as possible.
