GENTLEMEN

The Gentlemen's section is for all male members aged 18 and over. Many functions are run by the club during the membership year, but those intended more specifically for gentlemen are summarised below.

Medal or Trophy competitions, some of which are mixed events, are run throughout the year, whilst cards for handicap-qualifying purposes may be submitted on most Wednesdays through the season. Details of the various competitions are published in the annual Fixture List, issued to all members.

For the lower handicap (14 and under) player there are regular competitions run by the  East Riding Alliance, whilst a Scratch Team competes in various Union events as well as in matches further afield.

There are frequent friendly matches, both mixed and unisex, against other clubs, and details of these, again, are published in the Fixtures List.

A number of exchange days are arranged each year. These are excellent social events as well as being of exceptional value. Details of scheduled exchanges are published in the annual Fixture List. In 2010 exchanges have been arranged with:

• Coble Hall
• Bridlington
• Scarborough North Cliff

These exchanges are arranged by the Vice Captain for his forthcoming Season. In addition he arranges his "Captain's Away Day", which is by invitation.
In 2010 this will be at Shipley Beckfoot.
